Easter holiday in Germany

Easter is celebrated in different countries and this includes Germany. Countries may have different traditions on how they celebrate Easter but this is how the Germans celebrate this holiday.

In Germany, they have Easter on Good Friday and not during the Easter Sunday. During Good Fridays, they eat fish as part of the feast. Also, they have their Easter lunch where they feast on Easter Eggs as well as a cake shaped as lambs. They also have some cookies and chocolates.

Some Germans also burn old Christmas trees as their version of welcoming the spring. They also have Easter egg hunts where children have a great time. They also have the Chocolate kiss game as Easter eggs and chocolates are important to Germans. During Maundy Thursday they use green Easter eggs.

City break: Berlin

When looking for a city that is fun to visit, as well as has a deep history, Berlin is the place to go. Berlin, Germany is full of, not only tons of historical sites, but it’s home to some of the best architecture you will ever find. While in Berlin you will be able to enjoy eating some of the best food in the world while seeing tons of entertainment. Also, Berlin is very well known for their world class beers. There is a lot to see and do here, so you will not want to miss it!

One of the most visited places by tourists is the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. This was made public back in 2005, and ever since then has been a hot spot for tourists. Although it is a dark reminder of World War II, it also serves as a place to take in a bit of history.

From there you can make your way to the East Side Gallery. This is a big mile long stretch of the Berlin wall that is still standing. There are a lot of emotional statements written on the wall, and it will evoke a lot of different feelings in the people who see it. Although this wall has a bad past, it now severs as a national landmark.
