Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club leads the pack in UAE golf tourism

The 9th Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship is taking place at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, recently crowned as the favourite UAE golf destination, as recognized by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority.

The owners of both Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club is doing something right, as international inbound tourism has sky-rocketed in the past year, with Saadiyat Beach Golf Club receiving 94% growth compared to the same period in 2013, while Abu Dhabi Golf Club reported gains of 56% YOY.

Saint Lucia Jazz festival promises relaxing times

For relaxing times… make it Saint Lucia time. This spring, the Caribbean island will host its annual jazz and world music festival which has been thrilling music fans for over 20 years. Afrobeat legend Tony Allen will headline one of the event’s many stages, alongside R Kelly, the Jacksons and many other international and local performers.

Saint Lucia Jazz opens on May 30 and runs for a fortnight across the island’s picturesque locations. The home of the festival is the Pigeon Island National Landmark, one of the Caribbean’s most historic landmarks and a stunning place to spend a few days soaking up sun, music and dazzling views. Here you will find the main stage, amid the 44 acres of sloping grasslands, dry tropical forests, beaches and twin peaks.

India and China relax visa rules

 Indian and Chinese authorities have relaxed the  restrictions on tourist visas in order to encourage more foreign tourists.

India’s government announced this week that British tourists will no longer be affected by the re-entry rule that was introduced due to the Mumbai terrorist attack.

The rule denied entry back into the country within 60 days of departure without special permission from the country’s high commission. This meant those who wished to visit Nepal or Bangladesh during their trip could not re-enter India which left many tourists angry and displaced.

Marriott International Plans for Asian Hotel Increase

Global hotelier Marriott International has announced plans to more than double the amount of property that it owns and rents in the Asia-Pacific region over the coming years.

The corporation currently has 132 hotels in operation within Asia and have approved deals that will see their portfolio increase to 143 properties incredibly soon. However, Marriott have stated that they plan to have at least 265 hotels in Asia by 2016 that would see them renting more than 80,000 rooms throughout 16 countries.

Marriott International currently run eight brands in the Asia-Pacific region, which includes; The Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, Marriott Executive Apartments and Marriott Hotels & Resorts.
