Europe is well known for their amazing historical destinations and natural wonders. But tourists are now beginning to realize that Europe is also home to some thrilling and exciting water parks. Almost every country in Europe is home to a beautiful aqua attraction that should not be missed.
Adaland in Turkey

Located in Kusadasi, Adaland is one of the most popular water parks in the world because of their thrilling rides. The slides are simply amazing and the view from the top is spectacular. There are some areas that are only open in select months so check out their site for additional activities to enjoy any time of the year. If you are interested in relaxing while having a holiday in Turkey the Adaland is a great option for the whole family.

Caneva World in Italy

The best thing about Caneva World is that it comes with two theme parks each for specific type of recreation. If you’re looking for some traditional activities in the water you should visit Aqua Paradise. For shows, you should visit Movie Land.

Tenerife Water Park

Tenerife is already a popular summer destination because of its beaches. But the island just became a little bit more interesting thanks to a new Water Park. Aside from traditional slides and swimming pools, tourist can also enjoy dolphin shows.
Aquacity Mallorca

Aquacity is perfect for the entire family because there is always something for people of any age to enjoy. From the simplest rides in the water to the “Harakiri” drop which should be challenging enough even for experienced sliders.
Aqualand French Riviera

Although it’s a little bit expensive, it’s one of the best places in French Riviera for the family to just relax. It’s also highly accessible and very near to various accommodations in the French
Riviera.

Do your children still believe in him? Would you believe me, if I told you that you can now meet Santa Claus and cross the magical Arctic Circle, and even go for a reindeer sleigh ride with him? Oh, yes. Santa Claus village might be a bit far but then again how many chances does one have in life to meet Santa?

During the months leading up to Christmas kids make wishes and ask for presents from Santa Claus. It’s up for the adults to make this wish come true as they take the role of being Santa for their children.

But aside from becoming Santa Claus to kids, there are actually places in the world you could visit that closely ties their customs and traditions to the great gift giver. One of the most popular destinations in the world related to Santa Claus is the province of Lapland in the northernmost region of Finland. Tourists specifically visit Korvatunturi, which is a small village part of Lapland.

The Story behind Korvatunturi

Korvatunturi literally means “Ear Fell” because of its altitude (486 meters above sea level). According to the story, Korvatunturi is considered the ears of Santa Claus which allows him to determine which kids are naughty or nice. The area is located near the border of Finland and Russia where the actual Ear Fell is located. Kids around the world can write to Santa Claus in this village.

The Santa Claus Village

Aside from Korvatunturi, tourists can also visit Rovaniemi, the home of “Santa Claus Village”. Holidaymakers can visit the border of the Arctic Circle from Rovaniemi and even find the office of Santa Claus. Aside from the post office Santa Claus and its offices, there are also small shops around the city that features souvenirs related to Santa Claus.

Reaching Rovaniemi is very easy because it allows for a direct flight to the dedicated airport and a bus that takes the tourists to the Christmas Village.

Aside from focusing on entertainment, Halloween also lets you focus on the mystical, unknown or even scary. This is the reason why the best destinations for the Halloween holiday are uniquely scary or mystical places.

Bran, Transylvania in Romania

The name of the place alone could spell chills to any traveler. Although the name alone is almost equal to something scary, the main structure where every scary story comes from the Bran Castle. According to popular tales, the castle is considered the home of Dracula. Walking tours are available on a daily basis. Although it only features a single path (you can’t freely roam the castle), you can get a good idea of the structure’s design.

Salem, Massachusetts

Salem is well known for the “Salem Witch Trials” and the stories that revolve around infamous trial still lives to this day. There are no visible structures that reminisce of the witch trials but there are places that you can visit if you want to learn more. The Salem Visitor Center is a great place to begin your tour since it will provide helpful information on where to visit and what to expect. Other popular destinations are Salem Witch Museum and Witch Dungeon Museum.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Scotland because of their scary tours. Although you can easily enjoy a walking tour during the day, the really eerie and scary tour happens at night and the guides are well trained to tell the story in the most interesting fashion.

There are private investors keen on pushing something totally unique and they expect that their technology would be available for full commercial use by 2013. Instead of an aircraft that will take tourists to space, a private company based in Spain is developing a hot air balloon powerful enough for space travel.

Meet the “Bloon”

The hot air balloon worthy for space travel is the concept of Jose Lopez-Urdiales, a Spanish entrepreneur. The “Bloon” looks like a small space capsule with four windows which should be enough for four passengers to take a good look at space. Accompanying the four passengers into space are two pilots.

The helium balloon that will take the capsule into space is not something you see in regular balloon flights. The helium balloon measures 129 meters in diameter and it has the capacity to bring up the capsule up to 36 kilometers or 22 miles from the ground. Its maximum altitude is three times better than regular passenger aircraft.

The Bloon’s method of hauling people into space is actually very simple: the helium balloon will take the passengers into space and after two hours, the capsule will descend using a smaller balloon and eventually parachute into the ground.

Cost and Travel Times

The travel time including the trip from the ground and back is three hours (1 hour for travel). The projected cost of the trip will be £90,000 per passenger. It’s an ambitious project and actually more affordable that aircraft powered space travel.

In addition to their Hong Kong site, Disneyland recently announced the opening of another location in China. A ground breaking ceremony was held last April 8, 2011 in Pudong District which will set the start of the first phase of construction. The initial phase will cover at least 1.5 square miles which should be good for one amusement park and two on-site hotels. The cost of the initial construction will be $3.7 billion.

Pudong District is a very significant location and destination for the newest Disneyland because it was the location of the 2010 World Expo. The event was a big success as official estimate of the attendance was at 7.3 million. Setting up Disneyland in the same location of the World Expo is a business move that will easily attract locals and tourists.

After the initial phase, another 1.1 square miles will be allocated for additional expansion of Disneyland. The 3rd phase will be completed for Disneyland’s official opening in 2016. By the time that Disneyland China is opened, the amusement park will already have six parks around the world. The ownership arrangement of the new location is identical to Disneyland Hong Kong: 57% for a local Chinese company and 43% for Disney.

The amusement park in China is just one of the many ventures of Disney with the Chinese Government. They are also planning to establish a Cable Channel as well as promotion of a Chinese-language production of animations in the country. As the box office in China is improving, Disney is looking to tap the Chinese-speaking market to improve their revenue and expand their brand.

Fine dining in Milan is one of the best dining experience for any food critic because the best restaurants in the city combine the beauty of the city with an exhilarating dining experience. First time tourists in Milan should try out one of these restaurants because they represent the true spirit of Italy that perfectly blends with the beauty of the city.

Armani/Nobu

The names alone should give tourists a good idea on the beauty and appeal of the restaurant. Nobu is one of the world’s most popular Japanese restaurant chains and they sought the help of Armani to improve the experience. The restaurant is located in the famous Armani Via Manzoni where guests stay in the lounge in the ground floor before moving up to the actual restaurant.

Il Coriandolo

The best thing about Il Coriandolo is that customers will experience an authentic Italian meal. Its popularity is also boosted by the fact that it’s located in a very traditional Italian street. The restaurant is discreetly located in Via Dell’Orso Milan 1 – 20122 where you will need to read the signs carefully to find the restaurant. Il Coriandolo is very popular for their authentic fresh seafood meal.

Milan Bice

This upscale restaurant located in Borgospesso Milan first opened its doors in 1926 and continues to appeal to international guests to this day. It’s already considered a tourist attraction because of its years of operation and is well known for their homemade, authentic Italian recipes.

Wherever you explore in the city we are sure a Milan city break will give you great tasting food and an amazing location.

So when your on your next European or British Holiday it might be worth checking out the following rides;

Saw – The Ride

Based on a very popular horror movie franchise, “Saw – The Ride” combines the themes from the movie with a thrilling rollercoaster. Located in Thorpe Park, riders will go through speeds of up to 55mph or 89kph. Opening in 2009 the ride has continued to attract the attention of park visitors because of its unique concept. There’s even a venue where riders can bring home a video of their experience while riding the movie themed coaster.

Nemesis in Alton Towers

Alton Towers in Staffordshire is well known for their innovations in rollercoaster rides. But their most popular ride is also their scariest. The Nemesis is not just your regular rollercoaster since it’s an inverted rollercoaster – the first in Europe. Since 1994, the rollercoaster continues to provide thrills and scares to its riders simply because of the possibility of an inverted ride with maximum speed of up to 80kph.

Silver Star in Europa Park

The Silver Star first opened its doors to riding public in 2002 and it still one of the scariest rides in the world. With speed of up to 130kph, it’s very easy for the riders to experience 4G speed. One part of the rollercoaster rises to 239 feet with 4G vertical force drop. Europa Park is located in Rust, Germany.

But along with the popular attractions are the unique and unusual activities every tourist should consider visiting. These attractions are not necessarily on top of any tourists’ list of must visits but they often feature something different and entertaining.

St. Bernard de Clairvaux Episcopal Church

At first glance, it’s just a regular Episcopalian Church in Miami. But a closer look at the structure reveals that it’s more than just your regular structure. Although its current location is in North Miami Beach, it was originally built in Spain during the 12th century. The structure was only transferred to Miami in 1920 which was commissioned by William Randolph Hearst. The structure was originally a monastery which was taken apart and reassembled in Miami.

Monkey Jungle

There are many zoos to enjoy in Miami but none of them could rival Monkey Jungle. It’s practically a zoo in reverse since humans are placed in cages while the monkeys run wild. The jungle covers more than 30 acres and different types of monkeys run free. There are at least 400 monkeys in the jungle with 30 species.

World Chess Hall of Fame

Chess is not a very popular sports activity in USA but there’s still a museum dedicated to the sport. Naturally, the museum features the country’s best ranked chess player – Bobby Fischer. Tourists can learn more about the famous chess player as well as take a closer look at some of the artifacts and exhibits related to the game.
