One of the most visited places by tourists is the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. This was made public back in 2005, and ever since then has been a hot spot for tourists. Although it is a dark reminder of World War II, it also serves as a place to take in a bit of history.
From there you can make your way to the East Side Gallery. This is a big mile long stretch of the Berlin wall that is still standing. There are a lot of emotional statements written on the wall, and it will evoke a lot of different feelings in the people who see it. Although this wall has a bad past, it now severs as a national landmark.
Most people head over to the Charlottenburg Palace from there. This is a palace that was actually built in the 17th century. A guided tour of this palace is not necessary at all. However, it is recommended that you take your time walking through it so you can be sure not to miss any of the great artifacts that are there.
