Top 3 Halloween Holiday Destinations
Halloween is a very special type of holiday because it tries to celebrate something totally different. Aside from focusing on entertainment, Halloween also lets you focus on the mystical, unknown or even scary. This is the reason why the best destinations for the Halloween holiday are uniquely scary or mystical places.
Bran, Transylvania in Romania
The name of the place alone could spell chills to any traveler. Although the name alone is almost equal to something scary, the main structure where every scary story comes from the Bran Castle. According to popular tales, the castle is considered the home of Dracula. Walking tours are available on a daily basis. Although it only features a single path (you can’t freely roam the castle), you can get a good idea of the structure’s design.
Salem, Massachusetts
Salem is well known for the “Salem Witch Trials” and the stories that revolve around infamous trial still lives to this day. There are no visible structures that reminisce of the witch trials but there are places that you can visit if you want to learn more. The Salem Visitor Center is a great place to begin your tour since it will provide helpful information on where to visit and what to expect. Other popular destinations are Salem Witch Museum and Witch Dungeon Museum.
Edinburgh, Scotland
Edinburgh is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Scotland because of their scary tours. Although you can easily enjoy a walking tour during the day, the really eerie and scary tour happens at night and the guides are well trained to tell the story in the most interesting fashion.

Good top three for popular Halloween destinations although I did not visit Salem and the Scotland yet.
I visited Bran in the past but during the summer. It is a lovely place to visit, despite it is scary connections to Dracula. The castle is impressive but those who expect luxury and golden door knobs will be disappointed. It is a good place to see though and Brasov is only 17-20 km away.
I have been in Edinburgh, and particularly during Haloween. I will never forget that scary tour at night and the terrified story that the tourist guide was telling to us..her scary voice is still in my ears. I will say without shame that i could not sleep that night!!!
