Dubai is one of 7 Emirates in the south of the Persian Gulf. The country that used to be a desert has over the last century become one of the most desired countries to travel to. The area has become home to many different high rise buildings and interesting pieces of manmade beauty.

The country is home to not only the tallest structure in the world (Burj Khalifa) but also the hotel with the highest star rating, the Bur Al Arab 7* hotel. The area continues to create pieces of great architecture and luxury with the planned Burj al Alam set to take the title of world’s largest commercial skyscraper.

For those interested in more than sun bathing on their trip, country has many different activities. The largest mall in the country is known as the Mall of the Emirates and is home to not only great shops but also an indoor ski slope, perfect for kids to go on while parents shop. Southport – the beauty of the seaside

The name “Southport” is used since the end of the 1700s when a guest forgot the name of his location during his toast. The party was hosted by the town’s founder named William Sutton. The name of the place used to be South Hawes but the guest remembered “South” then added “port” as he was looking at his glass of port. From that point, the name started to gain popularity.

The popularity of Southport does not rely only on its name. The town is also a popular tourist destination because of its natural beauty. Formby Point is well known to the locals because the area is a perfect setting for picnics. Southport is also home the oldest pier in UK which still stands and offers stunning sea views.

The Beautiful Ancient City of Petra
